I know I have been quite snoozy off late and I have no one to blame but me and my indulgence in some pretty useless and inefficient activities. You can read more on what I was up to at Got Stuck. Anyways today I have kicked my self off the bed and also pushed to write the post in spite of having tons of assignments.

Today I am going to evaluate a site which I think is a great place to find stuff. The site is AvaxSphere.com. The site has stuff ranging from ebooks to movies. Following is the snapshot of the stuff available with the site.

The site boasts to have close to 10K pages and provides download from files hosted on files hosting services like rapidshare, megaupload and others. The site also has content which is not English, thus providing diversified stuff.

I researched the site and to my surprise this fantastic domain’s been registered just for on year and would expire this May. I am sure that the owner will renew it. I was keen to see if there was a mother domain that was driving content to this site, so I whoised avaxsphere.org and avaxsphere.net. To my surprise both of them were redirecting (possibly a 302) to avaxsphere.com.

Finally I found the link. The site is under the umbrella of avaxhome.ru (registered for 7 years), which also does a 302 to avaxsphere.com. So now it justifies 10K pages. Feel free to navigate the site and it’s section. There is plenty of great stuff like BBC, NGC and Discovery documentaries. Also is advisable to have a rapidshare account in order to unleash the potential of this site.

Rating this site on a scale of 10, I’d say it deserves 8. As per the other details of the site, the site’s been driving good traffic from:

Registered in Berlin, with approximately 10K visitors per month the site has a Google PR of 3 (surprisingly). Site has 97,000 pages in google’s index. Has an alexa rank of 630 which makes it into 0.01% of websites with alexa. AvaxSphere has close to 25000 (source cannot be disclosed) in-links (still surprisingly a PR of 3).

The site has around 408 people bookmarking it using del.icio.us. There are 10 articles on Digg and 27 diggs. The site has RSS feeds and is now part of Google Reader.

In all a great site to just kill your time navigating through it and downloading some cool and important stuff.
