Disappointed that public beta release was called off: Direct download links for Windows 7 public beta
Seems like Microsoft fell heads first in it’s own game of release Windows 7 for public beta. Ironically as they announced the Windows 7 beta will only be available for first 2.5 million people, they saw their servers hit badly on the day of the download. I tried my hands too for over 2 hours but with no luck.
Later it seems they have called off the public release and will get more servers to handle the request. This is preposterous to the extent of obnoxious for a company to not forecast such kind of response and have resources and servers enough in first place. Seems like you’ll have to wait.

But there’s some hope. News has been floating around of direct download links Windows 7 public beta download. You can get them from the following links.
7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.ISO (Windows 7 Beta (x86) Direct Link)
7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.ISO (Windows 7 Beta (x64) Direct Link)
I must caution that I haven’t checked the links myself as my university has a cap on the size of the download file. I am still trying to get around with it. Also, this doesn’t come with a license key and hence you’ll have to wait for the public release of windows 7 to register to get a serial. In the mean time you can still try it for 30 days.
Good part however is that you can also go to torrents site and start downloading it instead of waiting for the public release.
