Same problem as everyone else here. I downloaded, and it said successfully installed, but can't find it. Not very happy.
I found it it at one point in a tmp file, but have no idea what to do with it. Help! And please in simple terms. I know very little about how computers run. Thanks

I fell into the same trap.
I installed it but now can't find it, and definitely not in applications -> accessories.
I wish I'd read down to the comments BEFORE diving in

I have the same problem with AVG. To completely remove it use the computer janitor in the system menu. Just make sure you dont remove programs you want to keep on your computer. I eventually installed Avast as an anti virus on my system it works fine and is also free.

I downloaded and installed it.
The program does NOT show up under "Applications > Accessories > AVG for Linux Workstations", nor in any other place.
In terminal "sudo avggui" gives "command unknown" or something similar.
I used Synaptic Package Manager to completely remove it.

By the way, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04.
