Flock has been one of my favorite browsers and I have used it very regularly. I got on to Ubuntu (Hardy Heron) today. Yes, again I installed Ubuntu on my machine! So I wanted to install flock. But to my dismay there was no deb version of the Flock 2 Beta. As you can see from Vadim’s comment, the deb is now available. You can get it here. Thanks to Vadim for the quick heads-up and update. There is also a deb version of Flock 1.2.4. However, I wanted to install, the beta version 2 of flock on Ubuntu (Hardy Heron). I struggled a little bit but then found great way of installing it from the official site of flock. This was originally posted by Nexux 5.01 (Pretty strange, version as a display  name) and you can find the original post here. Following are the steps to install Flock 2 Beta on Ubuntu (Hardy Heron):

  1. Download Flock 2 beta2. (http://downloads.flock.com/index.php?product=flock-2.0b2&os=linux)
  2. Move the download file “flock-2.0b2.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2″ to your home directory “/home/USER/”
  3. Extract the archive contents (right click and goto “Extract Here”)
  4. When extracted it should of make a folder called “flock”, go into this folder.
  5. Inside the folder should be many files and folders. Double click on the file “flock-browser” and select “run”.
  6. After doing it’s thing (loading, configuring etc.) It should open Flock 2 beta 2.

Have fun using your favorite browser!
