Installing Restricted Hardware (Graphic) Drivers on Ubuntu (Jaunty): How-To
The 3D cube brought about a new revolution in Linux. Frankly, the eye candy effects have come off ages and actually are far more advanced and better than that of Windows. In order to get compiz running on your Jaunty (Ubuntu) machine, you’ll need to first enable the visual effects and in order to enable that you’ll need to install the restricted drivers of your graphic card on Ubuntu. Following guide will give you a step by step procedure to achieve this.
Go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers

Following window will open.

Select the recommended drivers and click Activate. Make sure you are connected to Internet. The drivers will be downloaded and installed.

All that is left to do now is to reboot your computer and see the new graphics in action.
