Internet Security Suites and Antiviruses which are compatible with Windows 7
What’s the first or almost first thing that you do when you install a fresh Windows operating system. Of course you get yourself an Anti-virus or an Internet Security Suit. It’s synonymous Windows and Viruses. I don’t have to bother about that when I am on my Linux partition. So, after I installed Windows 7, I wanted to get my self a cover to avoid those viruses and malwares.
I have a Trend PcCillin subscription and I gave it a shot on Windows 7 only to find out that it caused more problems than being a source of solution. The reason was simple it was incompatible with Windows 7. I had to remove it with a lot of effort. And just to avoid the effort again I did not try installing it in compatibility mode. So, I went looking for something that might be compatible.
So, I decided to search something that was compatible and hence ended up looking at Microsoft official page that talks about the compatible AntiVirus or Internet Security. Thankfully for me I got a 6 month key for Kaspersky and importantly that it was compatible. Following are the vendors whose AntiVirus and/or Internet Security Solution is compatible with Windows 7.
- Norton 2009 products. More precisely Norton 360 Version 3.0 Beta
- AVG both Pro and free version
- Kaspersky

I am sure there will be more compatible applications as the development and testing of Windows 7 reaches final phase. I cannot say anything about other services which might be compatible. But Trend Micro PcCilling IS 2009 Pro is not compatible.
