Limewire 5 beta: A complete guide to download songs using limewire
What’s your favorite source of music. May be pandora, lastfm or for that matter your own collection. Well, in my case I’d say that it’s LimeWire. Oh yeah, as soon as I discover a new track using Pandora or Last.fm, the next thing I do it search for that track using Limwire and if I am lucky (in most cases I am) then I download the track. I know it’s not leagal and has piracy issues, but I am sure you did not come to this post looking for non-pirated stuff.
I took the opportunity to download the latest beta release of LimeWire, i.e. Limewire 5 beta and installed it on my Windows 7 partition. It’s been running smoothly without concerns. The new interface is much more eye candy compared to its predecessor. The download speed totally depends on 2 factors. One, your Internet connection speed and two the number of peers available. Following is snapshot of what LimeWire 5 beta’s main interface looks like.

What I really liked though is the feature of being able to see if someone has marked a download as spam. This is the most exciting feature. However, be aware that wisdom of crowd is not always true and there are chances of false positive.

I tried to also take a few snapshots of important areas and features which have a new place and look in Limewire 5. Following is the main toolbar.

Interestingly, the new download tray of Limewire has lost a few details compared to Limewire 4. I must say I enjoyed the previous download tray and it’s details.

All in all the improvements, look and feel and the way media library is seperated makes LimeWire 5 a better piece of software compared to Limewire 4.
