Google had recently launched the feature of remote sign out and information about recent account activity to halp better manage the account. Now Google has come up with another addition wherein it notifies you as soon as it suspects any suspicious login in your account. The warning which will be posted by them would be “Warning: We believe your account was last accessed from…” along with the geographic region that can best associate with the access.

If you want to further see the details of the message or warning click on ‘details’ . You can change your password from the same window if you believe your account has been hacked. If you know it was legitimate access you can click “Dismiss” to remove the message.

Google keeps on coming with more and better security features one after another, probably thats why it is the most popular email service provider. Lets hope this feature can help out many people who have been troubled by hacking of their accounts

In offline mode of gmail, one can create email messages and send them even if you are offline. After the addition of new feature which allows attachments to be sent in the offline mode too, one doesn’t need to alter the way one used to send attachments. You can still send attachments the same way you used to , just attach them and send them along. It works the same in online or offline mode.

If offline feature is enabled, the mail goes through the outbox , regardless of whether you are online or offline. The new feature of Google enables attachments to be attached and sent in the same way as normal email messages in offline mode. The fact that gmail now uses outbox to send mails allows Gmail to capture all attachments, even if you suddenly get disconnected from network. If you’re online, your mail will quickly be sent along to its destination.

But you can’t send inline images in emails if using it in offline mode.

Steps to enable the offline mode feature of gmail

1. Visit the Labs tab page.

2. Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.

3. Click save changes. After the browser reloads there appears a small ” Offline ” link on the top right hand corner next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process.

4. After you click on the link the process of activating offline feature will begin and installation process will start.

5.  Also you need to install Gears to enable the offline feature of Gmail to run on your browser.

6. After that the browser will restart and you are ready to use the ‘offline’ gmail features including the offline attachment feature of it.

The three new services added to Google Translate are :

• Real Time Translations : Now one doesn’t have to write the whole text first and then press the ‘Translate’ button for translation. With addition of this feature , Google will simultaneously translate the text you type into the chosen language. This feature would prove to be extremely useful for people when typing a letter or a document , so that one may change the text as he is typing after seeing the translated text instead of typing in the whole text and then altering the mistakes.

• Read and Write in any language : If you want to convert text from a language but are unable to read the characters of the language , just paste the characters of the language into the translation tool and the clicking on ‘Show Romanization’ button will convert the text symbols into roman script. So one may know the pronunciation of the symbols in the language and it may be a very method of learning the language. This feature is for all non-Roman languages except for Hebrew, Arabic and Persian.

• Text to Speech : When translating into English, you can now also hear translations in spoken form by clicking the Speaker Icon. There are quite a few speech tools but a speech tool with option of over 51 languages along with all other added features wrapped in 1 tool would not be possible other than Google Translate.
